The man of golden hearted with few words shri Alo Libang ji, Hon’ble Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Social Justice & Empowerment and Tribal Affairs, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh visited Deepak Nabam Living Home rehabilitation centre at Senki Park, Itanagar on 9th August 2020. While visiting the centre, he also launch its website www.deepaknabamlivinghome.org
While addressing the more than 100 inmates and workers in the centre, Hon’ble Alo Libang ji showered much praise and appreciation for exemplary works done by the chairman Deepak Nabam and his co-workers in caring the most unfortunate ones in the society. He informed the audience of the new initiative by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh under his ministry especially for Mental Health Care in Arunachal Pradesh by officially declaring Deepak Nabam Living Home, Senki Park, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh as Half Way Home for people with mental disabilities and mental sickness and their rehabilitation. The Mental Health aspect in Arunachal Pradesh has not been touched by any earlier government although it is constitutional mandatory on the part of state government. The starting of the first Half Way Home in the state for people with mental disabilities and mental sickness is another steps towards fulfillment of constitutional duty on party of the state government to its citizen which is being initiated under his able leadership. He assured that a sum of Rs.54,80,000/- will be provided by Government of Arunachal Pradesh under the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment and Tribal Affairs as immediate relief for facilitating liveable home for the inmates. He also assured to provide an Ambulance through the Health Department.
While visiting the inmates suffering from various disabilities, addiction, sickness, and challenges, Mrs. G. Libang ji and other accompanied were moved to tears.
The event was also attended by the Director of Health Service, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh Dr. Moromor Lego, Director of Social Justice & Empowerment and Tribal Affairs, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh Shri Yumlam Kaha, Senior Psychiatrist and state nodal officer Dr. Haniya Payee, Mrs. Libang, and Mrs. Lego which was restricted to limited attendance due to covid19 SOP.
While speaking on the occasion earlier, Dr. Moromor Lego highlighted the importance of mental health and initiatives being undertaken by the Health Department of Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh. He has acknowledged and highly appreciated the yeoman services rendered by Deepak Nabam through his NGO.
The Director of Social Justice & Empowerment and Tribal Affairs, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh Shri Yumlam Kaha has appreciated the true social warrior like Deepak Nabam who dedicate themselves for the service of humanity. While highlighting the various provisions for people with disabilities, he assured to give required assistance from his department from time to time.
While giving Key Note address, chairman Deepak Nabam thanked Hon’ble Alo Libang ji under whose initiative that the NGO has been declared as official first Half Way Home in Arunachal Pradesh. He requested the Hon’ble minister to provide one ambulance and help finishing his under constructed 40 capacities inmates hostel.
