Foundation stone laying for the Halfway Home for the Mentally Disabled

Foundation Stone Laying at Sopo

Chief Minister Pema Khandu inaugurated a new 50-bed hostel named ‘A Home for No Home’ at the extended premises of Deepak Nabam Living Home in Sopo, Doimukh. He lauded philanthropist Deepak Nabam for his tireless service to the elderly, orphans, and the homeless, noting that even Prime Minister Modi had acknowledged his work in Mann Ki Baat.

Fulfilling a promise made during his 2021 visit to the charity’s earlier cramped facility in Itanagar, Khandu personally donated land measuring 21,000 sq. meters at Sopo for its expansion, as government policy did not allow land funding. He also laid the foundation stone for a new Halfway Home for the mentally disabled and assured continued budgetary support for infrastructure and operations.
